The intervention is driven by a deliberate strategy of preservation and densification. The existing school building is retained as much as possible and extended at the rear with a compact addition that responds carefully to the scale and morphology of the inner site. Rather than seeking contrast, the new volume builds on the architectural logic of the existing structure through proportion, roof form and material expression.

At the centre of the plan lies a new spatial core that brings together circulation, encounter and pedagogical use. It connects the different levels and organises the relationship between theory and practical classrooms, while circulation spaces themselves become active zones for learning and dwelling.

Through carefully orchestrated daylight, framed views and a direct relationship with Park Middenvijver, the interior gains spatial depth and openness. Existing building and extension are thus brought together into one coherent whole: one school under one roof.
